Weight Training Program- 5 Simple Techniques
Published by The Muscly Jerk June 4th, 2007 in Weight Training. Tags: No Tags. Are you just starting to do a weight training program but do not know exactly what to do. This article will provide you with five simple techniques that are going to make your weight training program the best it can be.
My first tip for you is to train only 4-5 days out of the week. If you work out a good hard 4-5 days then you will need the other 3-4 days to rest. The rest may seem like a bad thing to do, like it would make you week, that is not true though. The resting period is very important because it will give your muscles the time they need to rest and grow.
When you workout you should do a different muscle group everyday and you should workout two muscle groups a day. When you lift try to not spend more than an hour and a half lifting each day because anymore lifting will not do you any good. You should also only do 5-10 reps in each set and do the maximum amount of weight for those reps. You should never get done lifting and feel like you could have done more.
No matter if you are doing a one rep max or a 10 rep workout, have a good intensity on each rep. About 95% of people do not train with a good intensity and that number is way to high. If you want to get something good out of your workout you have to have a good intensity with each rep otherwise you are cutting yourself short.
Use dumbbells as much as possible. Dumbbells are much better than machines because they allow you to have a better range of motion. With a better range of motion you can train multiple muscles better than if you were using a machine. It is important that you pay attention to each rep you do with dumbbells though. If you make one wrong motion with dumbbells during a lift you could hurt yourself.
Although this is not really a technique it is one of the most important parts of a weight training program, dieting. You need to have a good diet when you are in a weight training program. Your diet should consist of 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fats, such as oils. If you have a good diet, and everything from above, you should have a great weight training program.
These are just five techniques I have found useful and important when making a weight training program.
