Maybe you do not have time to go to the gym and just want to lift weights in your spare time, or maybe you are just not a gym type of person. Whatever the reason may be you can get still get the same workout at home. If you are a beginner though this may be tough. You may be wondering how you start. In this article you will learn a couple of tips on how to do weight training at home.

Let’s talk equipment. It is very possible that being a guy you most likely have some hand weights just sitting in your basement collecting dust, if not hand weights are very inexpensive and very easy and safe to use. Another inexpensive idea instead of weights is strength training bands. Strength training bands act like weights so you are still getting the advantages of weight lifting without actually lifting any weights.

You may want to buy more expensive equipment such as a weight bench or something to that effect but seriously if you are just beginning it is really unnecessary to spend that kind of money until you get build up your strength. When your hand weights or your resistance bands get easier and you are not getting tired after six to eight repetitions then it is time to up your weights or get thicker resistance bands.

Everyone’s weight training program is different, I would tell you to experiment with different ways to lift weights and then do the ones that work for you. Only you know your body and only you can make a routine that works for you. There are a lot of different weight training programs online that may help you out.

What you need to focus on to get a full body workout is your arms, back, shoulders, chest, or your upper body. Your legs buttocks and calves or your lower body, and your abdominals. It is a good idea to take a day off in-between workouts.

For example one day weight train your upper body and the next day do abdominals and the lower body. Take a day off once a week for your body to rest. This is a good way to workout to ensure that your muscles take days off resting.

Now you know what you need to do in order to do weight training at home. Do not overdue it, take it slow and do it right and you will get that great body in no time at all.

So you are trying to build muscle? Do you know what you should be eating? Well in this article I will tell you what you should be eating to build muscle mass. You see what you eat is a really important part of growing muscle mass. Everything that goes into your body should contribute to your number one goal of building muscle mass.

First of all you should eat a lot of protein and I mean a lot of it. One gram of protein per pound of body weight per day. I know this sounds like a lot but when you add in supplements and protein powder shakes then it is not really that much protein to digest.

Eat a lot of red meat and fish, proteins that are found in red meats and fish are good for your muscles and help create much needed muscle growth. This is the best kind of protein that you can eat.

Did you know that protein should make up about thirty five percent of your overall diet? Along with protein you need to drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins in your system. Many bodybuilders drink up to 2 or more gallons a day.

Another thing you should be eating is carbohydrates in fact carbohydrates should make up at least fifty to sixty five percent of your diet. Carbohydrates actually are stored in the body as glycogen which is found in many supplements that you might take. When you are working out your body actually takes energy from the carbohydrates that are stored in your body.

Another ingredient that you should be eating to build muscle is fat, I know this sounds weird. You are most likely thinking to yourself why you would want to eat fat to gain muscle. You will only want to make fatty foods like ten percent of your diet; to much fat will do just that, make you fat. But fat does help to build muscle because it can aid the muscles in insulation and also give your body extra fuel to maintain the much needed effort of bodybuilding.

In Conclusion, these are just some ideas to help you figure out what you should be eating to build muscle mass. The diet you put yourself on should be consistent with these three things and I think that you will see results rather quickly. Make sure to eat plenty of protein and drink plenty of water and along with your workout you should make your fitness goals in no time.

If you are going to start bodybuilding then you are going to need some equipment. Just like any other sport, equipment is necessary for ultimate performance. Weight Lifting Gloves are a must have when bodybuilding. You may not think you need weight lifting gloves, but not only will it keep your hands in good condition so that you can train everyday but weight lifting gloves can keep you safe as well.

For your safety you should invest in a pair of bodybuilding gloves so that you can stay safe. When you weight train your hands get sweaty and slippery and this makes it hard to grip the barbell which can make weight lifting very difficult and very dangerous because you could drop the weight while weight training thus injuring yourself.

If you were wearing weight lifting gloves while weight training this is less likely to happen because of the material that these gloves are made out of. The material actually allows sweat from the hand to evaporate so that the weights are less likely to slip out of your hands.

If you have ever lifted weights then I am sure that you prefer weight lifting gloves other then going with out them. When lifting weights you can be sure that your hands will take the brunt of it. Your hands will get swollen or get painful calluses on them that will make it difficult to lift weights. But thanks to weight lifting gloves this no longer happens to the weight lifter who wears gloves.

Weather you are a beginner or a pro you should not be lifting weights without a pair of really good weight lifting gloves. You can find weight lifting gloves online or you can buy them locally in a sporting goods store or a gym. Ask your dealer which ones are the best, while some may cost a lot others are cheaper and will do just as good of a job as others that cost more.

It really depends on how into bodybuilding you are. If you lift weights everyday then I recommend that you invest in high quality weight lifting gloves that will last. If you only go a couple days a week then it doesn’t really matter if they are expensive or not. All that really matters when you are weight lifting is keeping yourself safe. So stay safe and keep your hands painless while weight lifting and invest in some weight lifting gloves.

Are you a vegan bodybuilder? The majority of you have probably just asked the question, “What?”, because you did not consider vegans to be able to be bodybuilders. This is because many believe that the vegan diet is unable to provide all the nutrients that are needed for a healthy body and that the diet will create a weak physical fitness and a scrawny appearance. Vegan bodybuilders are fighting to get this changed and this article will help those in the vegan bodybuilding world to perform at there best.

Vegan bodybuilding can be accomplished with just as much success as all other bodybuilding if you carefully monitor your protein intake and ensure that you get a high level of protein. Below you will find out what a vegan diet is, why protein is so important to a vegan bodybuilder, and some tips to ensure you get enough protein in your diet.

Many of you are probably wondering what a vegan diet is. A vegan diet is a diet that does not allow you o eat animal products. That means you are unable to eat meat, fowl, fish, and even eggs and milk. As you can tell this is a problem for bodybuilders as it removes a lot of essential nutrients. For instance, you are being denied the majority of your protein and iron because you cannot eat meat and both of those are important for bodybuilders.

Do you know what protein does though? Protein in the form of amino acids is pretty much the building block of the cells that make up skin, cartilage, hair, bones, and muscles. What does that mean for vegan bodybuilding? It means that protein is especially important to vegan bodybuilders as bodybuilding requires strong muscles and a strong skeleton. Protein further helps in the production of hormones and chemicals that regulate how the body responds to exercise.

Now the hard part, how do you get the right amount of protein? Vegan bodybuilders need to consume about 1 gram of protein per lb of lean muscle. For example, if you weight 180 lbs with 10% body fat you should be consuming about 150-160 grams of protein to grow muscle, and less than that to maintain muscle. If you are going to be a natural bodybuilder the best way is to eat grains, nuts, beans, and green vegetables. Those are also very good for getting iron which you will also need. If you want to get protein the unnatural way you could take protein supplements which could give you the protein you need.

Bodybuilding, especially vegan bodybuilding, is hard to do without the proper protein levels but after reading this article you should know how to get the protein, what protein does, and what a vegan diet is.

Are you just getting started into weight lifting and are looking to gain weight quickly an bulk up fast? You are probably looking for some weight lifting supplements that will help you accomplish just that and here they are:

1. The most obvious way to gain weight would be to take weight gainers but what are they? Weight gainers are protein shakes that are made of mostly whey protein. Some shakes do also contain other proteins like milk protein and egg but they are mainly whey protein. These shakes usually contain a high amount of carbohydrate in the form of maltodextrin and fructose. This is good for those who are looking to gain weight because it gives you the calories required to gain muscle.

2. To ensure that our body works at maximum efficiency you should take multi-vitamin and mineral packs. Why do they help the body perform at maximum efficiency? Basically, without vitamins and minerals we are unable to convert the food that we eat into hormones, energy, and tissues.

Minerals assure your brain receives the correct signals from the body, muscular contractions, balance of fluids, and energy production as well as for the building of bones and muscle. The vitamins enhance the actions of the proteins that cause chemical reactions such as energy production, muscle building, and fat burning.

3. If you are older than 25, have a high budget, or you are planning to compete in events, testosterone boosting supplements are good for you. Hormonal production usually begins to decline when you reach 25 so no one younger should use it. Teenagers should not use testosterone boosting supplements because they are supplements that effect the hormonal levels because there is no need to upset a teenagers delicate hormonal balance.

4. Another one of the weight lifting supplements that I would recommend when trying to gain weight and bulk up is spectrum flaxseed oil. Flaxseed oil is a polyunsaturated oil that is high in Omega 3 which is an essential fatty acid, one of the two essential fats that the body needs. What essential means is that the body is unable to produce it meaning you are only able to get it from your diet. Omega 3 helps improve your immune system, insulin sensitivity, energy production, and hormonal production.

The four weight lifting supplements in this article should not only help you to gain weight but to bulk up.

You should first get your back fixed but then you need to begin strengthening it. Here are some lifts that will help you to build back muscle.

1. The first build back muscle lift is called the stiff legged deadlift. This lift is very good for the lower back but also works the hamstrings and glutes. Read how to do this lift properly because if it is done improperly you could actually hurt your back.

To do this lift you will want to stand with your legs and upper body straight in a narrow stance. You will now bend over until your back is parallel to the floor. You will now grip the barbell with your hands slightly wider than your shoulders. You will now lift the weight until your back is at the straight position again. While doing the lift you need to inhale and hold your breath until you have lifted the weights.

2. The second lift that helps build your back muscle is the wide grip rear chin. This is another excellent lift that will help build the muscles in the back.

To do this lift you will need to place a chin bar about 6″ higher than your arm reach, off the floor. You will now place your hands on the bar about 32″ to 34″ apart. All you have to do now is pull yourself up until your chin is above the bar. Once you have pulled your chin over the bar you will lower yourself and you will be done. Do not swing back and forth and make sure to inhale when you raise and exhale when you lower.

3. The third lift, the close grip front lateral pull down, works on the major muscle, the lats, and a muscle that is rarely worked on, the teres major.

To complete this lift you will want to hold a lat bar with your arms about 8″ apart and kneel down so that you are holding the bar with your arms extended overhead. To do this lift you will want to pull the bar straight down until the bar is even with your upper chest. While doing the lift you need to inhale when pulling the weight down and exhale the weight when placing the weight back in the starting place. Once you have pulled the weight down you need to slowly let it raise to the starting position.

These three build back muscle exercises that are listed above are important lifts to have in your back muscle arsenal when trying to strengthen them.

The first exercise that everyone does in a weight lifting program is bench press. Bench press is a great workout but have you ever considered all the other workouts you could do on a bench? Below is a list of weight training bench lifts you can do:

-The most obvious weight training bench lift you can do is the bench press lift. The bench press works on the triceps, deltoids, and pectoralis. To do the bench press lift you will need a bench with either dumbbells or a bar. Get the appropriate weight that you want to do for this lift. To begin you will lie face up on the bench with your arms extended over your chest holding either the dumbbells or bar. You will then slowly lower the weight, touch your chest, and raise the weight back to the starting position completing one rep. I would recommend you do 4 sets of 8 reps for a gradual muscle gain or 3 sets of 6 reps for a big muscle gain.

-The second lift you can do on a bench is the incline bench press. The incline bench press works the upper area of the chest and the front part of the deltoids. To do the incline bench press lift you will again need a bench, this time a bench set at an incline position, and either dumbbells or a bar. Also you need to get the appropriate amount of weight you want to do. You will begin by lying face up on the incline bench with your arms extended over your chest holding the bar or dumbbells. You will then slowly lower the weight, touch your chest, and then raise the weight back to the starting position completing one rep.

-The third lift you can do on a bench is the decline bench press. This is done the same way as both the incline bench press and the bench press but the bench is at a decline position. This lift works the triceps, the anterior deltoids, and the inner chest muscles. You do this lift by getting the appropriate weight you want in either dumbbell or bar form and a decline bench. You will start by lying face up on the decline bench with your arms extended over your chest holding the dumbbells or bar. Lower the weight so that it touches you chest and then raise the weight back to the starting position completing one rep.

All three workouts are very similar but they work different muscles in the chest. I would recommend that you do 4 sets of 8 reps for gradual muscle gain and 3 sets of 6 reps for a more dramatic muscle gain.

Those are just three weight training bench lifts that can be done by simply having a bench and either dumbbells or bars.

Are you interested in becoming a weight lifter but you are unable to get to a gym and all you have are dumbbells? If this is you than you are looking for a free weight lifting workout. Below are a few lifts that can be done for a free weight workout:

1. The first free weight lifting exercise that can be done with dumbbells is toe raises which works the calf muscles. To do this lift you will want to hold dumbbells at shoulder level with your feet about eight inches apart. You will want to raise your body up onto your toes while you push you heels back to the floor. It is important that you stay under control and make the lift smooth because there will be a tendency to lose your balance at first.

2. The second lift that can be done with dumbbells is the press. The press works on the triceps, trapezius, deltoids, and the upper portions of the back and chest. To do this lift you will want to stand with your feet shoulder width apart, the dumbbells at shoulder height, and your palms facing in. Once you are in this position begin raising and lowering each dumbbell over your head alternating which dumbbell you raise. If you are having trouble smoothly lifting the weight and you are having to throw the weight up you are doing to much weight and should go down.

3. The third lift that can be done with dumbbells is the curl which works on the bicep muscles. To do this lift you will want to alternately curl each dumbbell up towards the shoulder, with your palms facing your shoulders, and then back down. Just like with the press you need to have a smooth movement. If you are having to arch your back and throw the weight up you are doing to much weight.

4. The final lift that can be done with dumbbells is the squat which works on the quadriceps and the glutes. To do this lift you will want to hold both dumbbells at shoulder level with your legs shoulder width apart. You will then squat down no further than when your legs are at a 90 degree angle and then raise back up. You need to make sure that you control the movement and have no thrusting up or falling down.

The four lifts listed are just four of the many free weight lifting exercises that can be done with only dumbbells.
